COMUNA 13
Comuna 13 was considered one of the most dangerous neighbourhoods in the world throughout the 80s and 90s. Now it's symbol to the transformation of the city of Medellín. Contact us for more info or to book a tour.
PANCHOCHA IN SAN FELIX
Casa Clandestina's off the beaten path secret - at least for foreigners. Go to San Felix and enjoy the incredible view over the city with a delicious cheese bread called Panchocha and hot chocolate with cheese in it. Weird combination? It's a Colombian tradition. Contact us for more info.
GET TATTOO IN CASA CLANDESTINA
We got our own house artist Sergio. You can admire his beautiful artwork throughout the house. He makes you an amazing price and comes to Casa Clandestina to get the ink done. You don't have to go anywhere. Sounds interesting? Contact us.
BREATHTAKING VIEWS
Go up to one of the many miradors that Medellín has and just enjoy the view. It's advisable to this just before sunset so you can see the city in daylight and the city lights at night time. There are street vendors to sell you some cold beers or empanadas.
Guatapé
Guatapé is only a day trip away from Medellín. It's an unique little town with picturesque streets and surrounding by a flooded area to make way for a huge hydro-electric dam. This has created a stunning view you can admire from the Peñol. You only have to walk up 740 stairs.
Plaza Botero
Take the metro to go the center of the city and visit Plaza Botero where you can appreciate Fernando Botero's - Colombian's most famous artist - sculptures. Next to it you can visit the interesting Museo de Antioquia. Or do a free walking tour in the center.
Calle de la buena mesa Manila
Manila is home to the original Calle de la Buena Mesa (“street of good food”). That's a street lined with various small cafés and restaurants, offering Colombian, Peruvian, Argentinan, Mexican, Spanish, Italian, German,... food.
Calle de la buena mesa Envigado
Same concept as in Manila but it's bigger and so there's more choice. It also gives you the opportunity to visit Envigado in one go.
Provenza
This beautiful zone of El Poblado is ideally to eat international food. It has a surprising amount of cuisine choices - Indian, Arabic, Japanese, Taiwanese, Greek, French and Italian cuisines. The best is that it's traffic free.
